Inspired by Yi-Fu Tuan's seminal work Space and Place: The Perspective of Experience, the department of Art and Public Policy at New York University hosted four dynamic groups with diverse voices presenting explorations of that which is seen on the surface, and shining a light on that which is left unseen.

I was brought on to design the visuals that would go on print & digital spaces around the symposium.

Motion & Print Design
The concept of how spaces shape—and are shaped by—those who inhabit and engage with them very much drove the motion. This was supplemented by the immediate takeaway from the title itself, to reveal that which is unseen and blurring the boundary between preset notions of place. The visuals were made to be responsive in p5.js, so that it could be adapted to various projection sizes at the venue.

The print collateral borrowed from this idea, and the blur was carefully modified to fit the medium.
